Dissolved Air Flotation and Potential Clarified Water Quality Based on Computational Fluid Dynamics Modeling
Conference Proceeding by American Water Works Association, 11/01/2009

Document Format: PDF

Description

This paper reports on the potential impact on the clarified waterquality produced by a dissolved air flotation (DAF) plant, designed and built on the basis ofconventional rates (i.e. ~10 m/h Net, excluding recycle) and assessing, when using the samestructures loaded at higher rates, whether the product quality may change or online monitoring such asturbidity may be affected. The assessment has been based on the use of both computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and asmall number of full scale site trials. Includes 11 references, tables, figures.
