This paper addresses the importance of a well-educated maintenance staff and the effects of codes on plumbing fixture selection. The importance of a good routine maintenance program is also emphasized. The paper discusses important areas that maintenance staff should be familiar with that include: toilets; urinals; faucets; backflow preventer assemblies; irrigation systems; and, plumbing codes and ordinances.
