This slide presentation outlines a study on Pb release from end-use plumbing components in Seattle Public Schools. The presentation begins with background information on the Seattle Public School District and its issues with water quality. The objectives of this study were: to determine Pb release levels from end-useplumbing components and fittings in SeattlePublic Schools. The approach included: field sampling – “sequential” sampling indicatedthat new end-use plumbing contributed elevatedPb levels; and,laboratory testing – conducted to asses therelative contribution of individual components. Results of both tests are provided and Discussion Topics include: Estimated Range of PbContributions from End-Use PlumbingComponents; and, “Pre-Conditioning” of NewBubbler Heads.
