This powerpoint presentation begins by providing a brief overview of Alameda County Public Works Agency’s (ACPWA’s) objectives for the strategic planning process, including:promote a more customer-driven philosophy;align departments within the agency; employ a more “business-like” approach to planning and execution; and, understand and achieve goals related to demographic, environmental,economic, and resource trends. The presentation focuses on the following topics: Strategic Planning 101; the Strategic Planning Process; ACPWA’s situation and Strategic Plan;example objectives and action items; and,implementation and tracking. As a result of the process, ACPWA was able to:develop departmental action items based on a common Vision, Mission,and Goals;develop a plan that communicates effectively to all levels of theorganization;align the agency’s plan with county-wide strategic planning; and,garner organizational buy-in at all levels.
