Description
This article, based on statistics compiled from tank inspections performed since 1974, highlights methods of inspecting and maintaining water tanks. Inspection tips are given for the interior of tanks, including roof plates, shells, columns and other appurtenances, and floors. Exterior inspection tips are also provided, along with suggestions for repainting and recoating tanks. Tank maintenance involves periodic inspections and record keeping to monitor the status of coating and paint.
