The authors provide a briefreview of some statements within the report that pertainto water resources.The changes implied are broadly predictable interms of how they will affect natural processes and interms of the most logical actions water suppliers cantake to adapt their water resource management plans.Climate change is an undeniable reality that is alreadyupon us. It will have material effects on water resourcesmanagement within the limits of current planning horizons.Because climate change processes will change thequantity and quality of water that is available at anygiven place and time, plans based solely on historicalrecords are likely to be vulnerable to these changes.The effects are complex, but understandable, andadaptable measures can be incorporated into ongoingplanning efforts.
