Description
Increased service requests as the result of population growth created pressing demands on the water and wastewater department of the city of Gladstone, Missouri. These requests in turn created demands for additional overtime hours, a demand the city had difficulty meeting until the institution of the four-day work week. The new schedule resulted in increased productivity, decreased overtime and sick leave, and better service.
