Planning for Water Efficiency in Austin, TX
Conference Proceeding by American Water Works Association, 01/01/1993

Document Format: PDF

Description

The City of Austin has had an ongoing water conservation plan since 1985. New goals were set in 1990. To develop a comprehensive plan, the city conducted a study to (1) update demographic and water use data; (2) evaluate new or expanded water conservation measures; and (3) prepare an updated water conservation plan. This paper summarizes the results of the study. The initial analysis was made using the WaterPlan 2.0 cost-benefit software. Following a training period and delivery of input files and benefit-cost software, subsequent analyses were performed by the City staff and completed in April 1993. The data within this paper reflects the most recent data collected by the City and analyses performed on that data by the City.
