Description
This powerpoint presentation begins by providing a brief overview of the impact of drought and presents drought preparedness ingredients. Shared Vision Planning (SVP) is acollaborative approach to formulatingwater management solutions thatcombines three disparate practices:traditional water resources planning;structured public participation; and,collaborative computer modeling. Two drought modeling tools are presented:MS Excel based Shared VisionPlanning; and,GIS based WEAP. The dashboard feature of the Shared Vision Model is presented, along with the following stages of drought: visioning; decision-making; shortage indicators; and, EDC drought plan indicators and triggers. A comparison of SVP modeland WEAP model applications is provided, along with indicators of initial and ongoing success. Includes figures.
