This powerpoint presentation begins by providing background information on conservation issues with the City of Austin, Texas, that lead up to the formation of the Water Conservation Task Force. Task Force goals include:find means to reduce the growth in peak day demand by1% per year for 10 years beginning in 2007, ~25 MGD,approximately triple the current savings rate;produce a policy document for Council considerationand formal adoption;policy document outlines strategies to be adopted,implementation details, budgetary considerations, andserves as a guideline for drafting necessary amendmentsto the city code and technical manuals.
