The objectives of this slide presentation on the Jordan River in Salt Lake Valley, Utah, were to: characterize return flows in the lower Jordan River; and, evaluate future flow impacts to river that mayresult fromincreased wastewater recycling, andincreased importation of water supplies. Study challenges included: system complexity;supply sources;water municipalities and districts;irrigation canals and diversions;wastewater collection systems;large volume of data;approximately 100 Megs of spreadsheet files;data gaps; and, groundwater surface water interaction. Topics outlined include: groundwater inflows; typical M&I demand block; agricultural demands; water supplier/WTP; wastewater and reuse; mass balance at river reaches; scenario manager and typical plot; model results (dry years); phosphorous load optimization; and, water quality cost vs. phosphorous reduction.
