This powerpoint presentation begins by providing a brief overview of energy usage by California utilities, and lists the core climate change mitigation strategiesfor water and wastewater agencies. The presentation profiles the Inland Empire Utilties Agency (IEUA) in California, the challenges IEUA is facing as far as population growth in the area, and IEUA plans to address energy needs that include the following: greenhouse gas (GHG) mitigation action – energy efficiency; generate renewable energy; GHG reduction credits; develop local water supplies; recycled water; water/energy savings; and, IEUA’s carbon footprint.
